How to Wash Your Makeup Brushes & Make Them Last

If you invest in brushes for your cosmetics, you want them to be in good condition for top performance and to last a long time. Here are a few simple tips for care and maintenance:

• Use separate brushes for light and dark shades

• Wash your brushes once a month.  Commercial makeup brush cleaners can be harsh, so instead use a solution of 1/2 cup warm water and 1/4 cup white vinegar.  If you like, you can add in a few drops of baby shampoo or dishwashing liquid.

• After washing your brushes, reshape them and let them dry completely before using again.

•  Once the bristles start to fray, get fuzzy or fall out...it's time to replace your brush!
