Skintimate Ready for Everything Sweepstakes PLUS Reader Giveaway

Skintimate contacted me to share information about this fabulous sweepstakes with Beauty by Jinxy readers and also gave me the opportunity to interview one of the top ten finalists. I asked to interview Larissa M. from Brooklyn, NY (that's her beautiful design at right). Here is our interview:

When did you begin designing?

Have you ever gone shopping and found the cutest dress but said to yourself this would be perfect if it was in green, or if it was strapless, or if it wasn’t sequins, or if it didn’t have all these ruffles? I was tired of finding things that were almost perfect. I wanted to make a clothing line that fit my fashion perception of a perfect piece.

Where do you get inspiration for your designs?

I always find it difficult to answer this question because everything inspires me. I’m inspired by everyday life, people and situations. My last collection was designed based on a feeling. I thought about what I would like to wear on the perfect summer day, and came up with the soft tones and intriquite silhouettes of Spring 2011.

What particular pieces do you most like to design?

My true passion is designing dresses that allow women to show off their fun and unique personalities. My designs are colorful, full of standout patterns, and intricate in their detailing. They scream fun while exuding a classic elegance and sophistication.

If you could design for any celebrity, who would you choose to wear your creations?

I would love to design for Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna, because they are known as fashion forward artists. I love that they promote female empowerment in their music and I respect the way these women carry themselves with elegance and are never afraid to express their personalities through their wardrobe.
